Book review

What i know for sure by Oprah winfrey (book review).

I guess everyone know Oprah, she’s a talk show host, actress and producer. And I’m sure that everyone heard about “The oprah winfrey show”.Oprah represent the successful powerful, and the brave women, she is one of the women who made everything from nothing, she’s one of the person who always care about self-improvement, literature and spirituality. I’m not here to talk about how great she is, but to talk about her book “What I know for sure”.This book was one of the books that I wanted always to read, something in the title made me curious about what oprah does know for sure, I mean what a person like her knows for sure, what she could learn, and how she become who she is after everything, what I knew for sure that all the answers to my questions are there in the book. It’s a book where everyone could have a new vision to life, a totally different vision than what you think of life especially if you had enough of everything, for me the book is a break which take you somewhere else and brings you back with new faith and hope to keep forward. The funniest thing is the book has no summary on the back but once you see the author’s name, you don’t care about it. Also I loved how Oprah end’s her book with a quote “I know for sure: Your journey begins with a choice to get up, step out, and live fully.” Oprah winferyI knew that Oprah was smarter than writing a summary only for her book and she did a summary for whole life, the first time I heard the sentence what I know for sure was on her last episode from her show saying that what she knows for sure we all are called, everybody has a calling, and your job in life is to figure out what that is and get about the business of doing it.I believe that everyone in life has a message and a mission to do and it is why we are different, but they are things in common in this word and once we keep them we are in the right way to do what we want. The first chapter of the book started with “Joy” and the last one is “Power”, and between these two chapters you will find “. Connection, gratitude, Awe, clarity…”And I loved the order of the book, I think that best decisions in life start with a joy and they must end up as a power, and between them is the way to be powerful. If I could say something about this book it’s a life lesson where we should learn to be generous with ourselves and others, and share what we have with the world also it’s about appreciating what we have and who we are. And keep being positive about ourselves and others. My favorite parts are where Oprah said:

  • Life is full of delightfull treasures, if we take a moment to appreciate them.
  • I know for sure that i don’t want to live a shut down life–desensitized to feeling and see i want every day to be a fresh start on expanding what possible.
  • You don’t have to waste an other day on that road. You can begin again
  • ….
Book review

What i think of Ryan holiday’s book (The obstacle is the way).

The book started with an old story, when Marcus Aurilus the emperor of the roman empire set down to write for himself.

Our actions may be impeded…
But there can be no impeding our intentions or our dispositions. Because we can accommodate and adapt. The mind adapts and converts to its own purposes the obstacle to our acting.

This book based on the practice of stoicism, which means looking to our problems in a different way, and deal with life adversities. It’s about not stopping in a front of the problem, and learn how to face it, and make it on our way.IT’S A BOOK WHERE WE ARE GOING TO LEARN ABOUT HOW TO DEAL WITH FAILURE BY USING OUR MENTAL POWER.IN HE’S BOOK RYAN PROPOSED TO FOLLOW SOME PRECEPTS TO REVOLUTIONISE OUR LIVES,If we want to talk about STOICISM, we will say is the a way which we use our mental to keep the difficult moment strong. It’s when we don’t see problem in our life as problem, it’s when we see the obstacle in our way as a different opportunity, and not to quit. It’s a philosophy that held the principles of logical thought to reflect a cosmic reason instantiated in natureRyan holiday choose to deal with the obstacle in his book in three PART the first part:1_PERCEPTION: is how we see and understand what accros around us.2_ACTION: is a commonplace, it’s persistance and flexibility, the thing which define us, is acting with deliberation, boldness and persistence. It’s the solution and the cure to our predicament.3_WILL: is our internal power which never can be affected by the outside world, is what we depend on when agency has all but disappeared. What i think of this book? The book is an awesome reading. I never taught that i will be interested by this kind of books i mean business/psychology books, beside this reading is a real push to move on and start what ever you want to do with your life, or to face the thing that stop you. Also There is a lot of good example/stories of people who decided not to quit to their emotions.John D rockefeller who saved his money when a massive national financial crisis hit Cleveland. Watched what other did wrong and got rich in a recession.Ghandi played to his weaknesses and turned the British empire’s military against it an some other people who did not accept the depression…This book could help to recognise our weakness, and propose some ways to turn that weakness into greatness. It’s true that the book it’s only three part but it contain 32 chapter each chapter complete the other for exemple the first part start with Recognize your power and it end with prepare to act.The only thing that i could say, is this book is so good it’s only need to be read carefully, because there is lot of stories out there. Personally i needed time to get it because there’s a lot of lessons to learn and lot of technique to remember especially if you want to know your weakness to face life or want to start your own carrer there is a lot of thing that you need to learn about yourself in this book and lot of exemple who would help to make the obstacle your way.

Book review

What i think of jen sincero’s book, You are a badass how to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awsome life.

You are a badass is the self-help book for people who desperately want to improve their lives, but dont want to get busted doing it.Its whta’s book saying for me, it’s a window to see yourself in a diffirent way it’s an opportunity to remaind yourself how great you are, and what you are able to do.And it’s explain our relationship with so many things like fear, and how our enviromment can’t be supportive some times.Jen sincero talked about things to improve our lives about how the big snooze or drama could stop us to not see the bright side of us, beside not to care about what othres thinks of us.And how to let go… She wasn’t only talking with those people who underestimate theirselves or their greatness, and those who try to improve their lives for making it better. The book is for everyone if you think that your life is cool you have to read it too.The most things i loved is how jen sincero share her little stories and the way she learned from them also the she talk to the readers for example:

So if you finally decide to quit your soul-crushing job and start the pastry shop of your dreams, be not upset if a track drive through your front window into your scones.Instead of taking this as sign that you shouldn’t have opened your shop take it to mean taht you’re ridding yourself of your big snooze and moving in the right diriction》.

The main idea is that you deserve a better life even if you are doing the best of you deserve more.and it’s a source of inspiration to try new things.Jen sincero suggest five part with twenty-seven chapitre to reach the glorious life and to find your inner badass and let it shine.
My favorite quote in the book are:

  • If you want to live a life that you never lived you have to do things you never done.
  • Its not your fault that you’re fucked up.Its your fault if you stay fucked up…
  • What comes out of your mouth comes into your life..
